The Loss of Multiples Memorial Chime was created in collaboration with the International Vanishing Twin Syndrome Foundation (IVTSF) to honor siblings, mothers, and families who have experienced the loss of a child. It reflects shared experience, shared loss, and a shared commitment to honoring babies lost in multiple pregnancies. This custom remembrance wind chime was created through a deeply personal collaboration between two mothers—Andrea Greenwich Heffner, M.Ed., an artist, and Dr. Nichole McTurk Cubbage, a researcher—and the International Vanishing Twin Syndrome Foundation (IVTSF).

Andrea and Nichole each experienced the loss of one of their twins. From those parallel journeys emerged not only friendship, but purpose. Andrea transformed her grief into art, painting a series of purple butterflies in memory of her twins. Nichole channeled her experience into doctoral research and ultimately founded IVTSF to address gaps in awareness, documentation, and compassionate care for families affected by vanishing twin syndrome (VTS) and multifetal loss.
Unlike candles, which eventually burn out, wind chimes endure. Their sound returns with the wind—gentle, recurring, and lasting. Each note serves as a quiet reminder that love continues and that every baby is remembered.
This chime is inspired by two mothers choosing to build something meaningful from their loss. It stands as a tribute to babies who are forever part of their families and as a symbol of solidarity for others walking a similar path.
A portion of proceeds supports the ongoing work of the International Vanishing Twin Syndrome Foundation (IVTSF) to advance research, education, and awareness so that families experiencing multifetal loss are seen, acknowledged, and compassionately supported. May its sound bring comfort, remembrance, and the reassurance that love always prevails.

Butterfly designs are available with one, two or three butterflies.
-
Tiny Sprout. The tiny sprout reflects the earliest beginnings of life and the quiet moment when something new first starts to grow. It symbolizes life that begins together, even when the journey unfolds differently than expected.

Sunset. The sunset symbolizes love that does not end when life is brief. Just as a sunset marks both an ending and a continuation beyond the horizon, it reflects the enduring presence of babies who remain part of their families’ stories and memories.
