Winter Wellness Starts Here

January comes to us with a mix of emotions, and a mix of energy levels. For some, there is a let down after the holidays, and a desire to hibernate. For others, there’s the excitement of a new year with fresh possibilities.

Lessons from Nature: Finding Peace in the Winter Hush

At Wind River, January has us looking to nature – our source of constant inspiration – to see what it has to teach us. This January brought a big, beautiful snowfall to Virginia, and with it, a hush to the earth and a slower pace to life. The snow was a reminder of the power of peace to bring healing and wellness to our lives.

So how do we capture that wonderful sense of peace, even when there isn’t snow? How do we invite healing and wellness in when we’re surrounded by busy lives and competing demands?

Gratitude: A Simple Path to Healing and Wellness

One source of peace that’s always available is gratitude. All it takes is a few minutes every day to be still and choose to see life as a gift, and to find a few simple things to be grateful for.

If you begin there, you will start to see everything through the lens of gratitude – even hard things. Not that bad things become good, but rather, bad things create unique opportunities for good to shine through – sometimes referred to as a “silver lining”.

Tools to Cultivate Gratitude

Practicing gratitude is one way to help bring peace and wellness to your mind and soul. And if you’re someone who likes to use mindfulness tools to facilitate entering into a place of gratitude, you might find Wind River’s Meditation Chimes helpful. Or, let a set of Wind River chimes carry you to a place of peace and gratitude.

Whatever mindset you’re in this January, there’s no better way to improve it than taking a few moments to choose gratitude. You may find yourself feeling much more peaceful about whatever lies ahead.

May you all be blessed with deeper gratitude and wellness in 2025.
